Dear Jim & Judy,

    Congratulations on reaching 40 years!  That is such a landmark in our disposable society.  I’ve heard several say after multiple marriages that they wished they’d tried harder in their first to make it work.  A good marriage is not for the faint of heart but is definitely worth it. What a blessing to have your children honor you with remembrances on a blog.  You were always great neighbors and a great influence on our kids and I appreciate you allowing my kids to just tag along at times.  I hope they weren’t a bother but as Esther said you were definitely a good influence.  Thank you for being patient.  A good neighbor is worth their weight in gold and you were definitely worth it.  I still remember the trip you organized, Judy, down Nine Mile Canyon by Price that I went with Esther on. I was fascinated by the rock carvings.  There were marks on the walls that when the sun hit them, that would signify the last frost and time to plant.  How ingenious.  I remember, Jim, when you and I got hired, you as a cop and I as a firefighter. It doesn’t seem that long ago. My, how time flies. I always remember theses mammoth animals that some could mistake for small horses, but were your dogs.  They definitely were your protectors.  Thank you for visiting with us when we came to Newport, thank you for the tour of your house.  The view was beautiful.   I don’t know if you influenced his decision, but Ben, our youngest, is also a special ed teacher.  We wish you the best and a continued life of good health.  May God be with you and your family.

Dear Jim and Judy;

Half-a-Buck here! Hey I just wanna say that you guys are amazing! Really you are! You have been my second family and looking back I don't think I could have expected how much love and compassion that you guys have given.  I can't have better friends, in the beautiful people you have helped to bring in to this world or a better example from both of you.  That love and compassion you still give even to this day, by making your way back to the desert for our wedding last July. ;) You are great people, that I stalk on Facebook, who see the beauty in the world around them.  I love you both very much, miss you, and wish you well.  Congratulations on 40 years.

Dear Jim and Judy,

Happy Anniversary...I can't believe it's been 40 years already! It doesn't seem that long ago, Chewy, when we were working Vice together and taking the kids to the park for our Mr. Mom days on our days off. And the looks we would get from the other moms at the park due to our scruffy appearance.

I am so happy for you both. 40 years is no small feat, especially for someone who had a career in law enforcement. Judy, I know how hard it could be to be married to a cop: the crappy hours, the missed birthdays and holidays, and your worry when Jim went to work. But you both have something special - each other - and not only are you an awesome couple, you are great parents. Matthew, Chrissy, and Carla have all turned out to be great kids (as evidenced by them putting this blog together), and you have much to be proud of.

Wishing you both all the best on your special day...now go party your brains out!

Esther Tillotson Call

Dear Jim & Judy,

I just want to thank you for being such awesome neighbors and role models for me as I was growing up.  

For much of my childhood I think I was scared of you, Jim.  To such a little girl you seemed so big and intimidating.  However, the knowledge of having my dad as a fire fighter and you as a police officer always made me feel safe.  I just knew that with the two of you there everything would be alright.  As I grew older I felt your kindness and I could tell how much you loved your family. 

Judy, you really were like a second mom to me.  I am so grateful for the countless times you allowed me to tag along with Chrissy – whether it was just going to the store, to girl scouts, making dolls or any other various activity.  You have such a big heart and you were always kind and considerate of me, though I probably never thanked you for it.  I don’t know if I would have made it through my childhood without the kindness and Christlike influence of your family.

I am so grateful to have had you in my life and I will always remember you as some of the best people I have ever known.  Thank you a million times over for being you and creating such a great family.

Dear Jim and Judy,

I'd like to wish you both a very Happy 40th Wedding Anniversary. It is quite an accomplishment in today's world. I can't drive down your old street without thinking of you. I'll always remember seeing your beautiful dogs in church and all the good that you brought to BCC. You are missed. Take care of each other and I'll see you on Facebook.
